Frequently Asked Questions
Where do lessons take place?
Lessons take place at skateparks across the Dallas/Fort Worth area. We'll confirm the exact location when you book — most students meet us at parks in Deep Ellum, Fairview, Allen, Plano, and Frisco.
Do you provide a board, or do I bring my own?
Bring your own if you have one — if you don't, we have loaner boards for first-timers, or you can grab a complete from the shop and get your free 30-minute intro lesson included.
What ages do you teach?
Ages 5 and up. We've taught kids who couldn't push to adults learning their first ollie. The Cortez method scales to your level.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothes you can move in, closed-toe shoes (skate shoes ideal). For first-timers we recommend a helmet and pads — we can size you in the shop.
What's the difference between a lesson with Will and a lesson with another coach?
All Cortez coaches are trained in the same method and held to the same standard. Lessons with Will are best for advanced progression, competition prep, and Olympic-track athletes — and they book up fast. The other coaches are excellent for fundamentals and confidence-building at every level.
Can I cancel or reschedule?
Yes — reschedule up to 24 hours in advance, no charge. Cancellations 8–24 hours before are charged 50%. Within 8 hours: 100%. If you're sick, just let us know and we'll work with you.
Do you offer camps?
Yes — Spring Break, Summer, and school holiday camps. See current camp schedule →
